Welcome to the Alliance for Community Healthcare Solutions (ACHS)
-
To ensure hospitals and other healthcare facilities retain the freedom to partner with Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) in enhancing the quality of patient care, promoting efficient use of healthcare resources, mitigating healthcare disparities, fostering innovation, and preventing facility closures.
-
To protect, promote, and expand the ability of REITs as essential partners in the nation’s healthcare system. We advocate for policies that protect and promote REITs while educating stakeholders and building a collaborative network to drive sustainable improvements in acute care.
-
The Alliance for Community Healthcare Solutions is a coalition of allied stakeholders who believe in preserving REITs as a proven method of financing improvements to acute healthcare. The ACHS welcomes organizations who have a role or interest in maintaining and expanding healthcare access in communities across the country through this innovative financing model.
-
The Alliance for Community Healthcare Solutions was established in response to proposed legislation in the United States that would effectively eliminate REITs as a source of capital and financing for hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Such legislation could lead to widespread hospital closures, reduced access to care, poorer health outcomes, and significant job losses, especially in vulnerable communities. The ACHS aims to prevent this by educating lawmakers and the public about the facts regarding REITs and how REIT financing has made a difference nationwide in maintaining access to high-quality care.
WHY REITs MATTER
REITs are a Lifeline for Hospitals Across the Country
REITs provide hospitals and other healthcare facilities with the capital needed to maintain operations, improve facilities, expand healthcare services, support physicians, nurses, technicians, and other personnel, and offer better high-quality care.
By investing in hospital real estate, REITs help operators avoid financial strain, allowing them to focus on doing what they do best – treating patients.
REITs prevent hospital closures and keep critical services running.
REITs provide immediate, flexible funding to operators, allowing them to invest in infrastructure, upgrade equipment, and expand services.
